Legends of Punk Let Fans Choose Set List; Money Raised to Benefit Struggling Artists Through Sweet Relief Musicians Fund
LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwire) – X, giants of the original L.A. punk scene, are gearing up for a series of concert dates unlike any they have performed before. X will be allowing their fans special access to their website for the purpose of selecting the set list for this upcoming tour!
X will embark on their X-TRL tour, featuring the winning set list voted on by fans. The tour will run in two legs, the first beginning April 9 in Portland and finishing with a premier spot at the famed Coachella Music Festival on April 19th. The second leg will begin May 26th in Boston, ending June 23rd in Minneapolis. A special appearance at the All Tomorrow’s Parties (ATP) – UK, curated by The Breeders, will also take place in May. This trip across the pond marks the first time the original X line-up will play in Europe in over 25 years.
In addition to the TRL portion of the tour, the band once again has teamed with the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund to offer tickets and VIP/Meet & Greet passes to raise funds for charity. Ticket packages will be auctioned on eBay, and will be up for bid 2 – 3 weeks prior to the concert date. Each ten-day auction will be posted at www.ebay.com/sweetrelief.
Sweet Relief Musicians Fund is a Los Angeles-based national charity providing financial assistance to musicians who are struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability, or age-related problems. For more information about Sweet Relief, please visit www.sweetrelief.org.
The L.A. punk scene in the late 70s saw its share of greatness, but few acts as talented and durable as X. They were the quintessential L.A. punk rockers that have become a world-class, live, rock & roll band. X’s 2008 “13-31″ Anniversary tour was something really special with the original line-up of John Doe, Exene, Billy Zoom, and D.J. Bonebrake. 2009 is revving up to continue this awesome punk-rock ride!
