One of the most consistent and prolific performers in country music today, Kenny Chesney has recorded thirteen albums since 1993, eleven of which have been certified gold or higher. He has more than thirty Top Ten singles on Billboard’s Hot Country charts to his credit; sixteen of these have reached Number One. Chesney has been recognized time and again by his peers, winning four ACMs – including an impressive four consecutive Entertainer of the Year Awards – and six CMAs. He regularly sells out every venue on his tours, no matter how large. Chesney’s 2007 Flip-Flop Summer Tour was the highest-grossing country road trip of 2007. As loyal to his fans as they are to him, Chesney strives to find ways to keep ticket prices down, including varying the size of his venues.
Chesney has been a regular on tour and on the radio since the late 90s, when his breakout single “She’s Got It All” first hit the airwaves. The song was Chesney’s first Billboard Number One single, sitting atop the country charts for three weeks. In 2006, Chesney was honored with a plaque commemorating his sales of 25 million albums. Chesney continues his can’t-miss success with his latest release, Lucky Old Sun. The lead-off single, “Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven,” was released on August 11, 2008 and in October became a Number One hit on the Billboard country charts. Following it was “Down the Road,” a duet with Mac McAnally which also reached Number One. “Ten with a Two” was previously a single in 1990 for Willie Nelson from his album Born for Trouble, and “That Lucky Old Sun” is a cover of the 1949 pop standard made famous by Frankie Laine.
