He has been awarded the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia for contributions to popular music and philanthropic work via his own foundation, which helps improve education for people around the world. Adams released his eleventh album "11" internationally on March 17, 2008. The album was released in the US exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club retail stores on May 13, 2008. The first single released from the album was "I Thought I’d Seen Everything". Adams is planning an 11-day, 11-country acoustic promotional tour for the support of the album in Europe.
