Pop Diva Meeghan Henry Releases New Single “When I’m 18″

July 21st, 2010 · No Comments

AZUSA, California, July 21 /PRNewswire/ — Meeghan Henry won’t have to wait until she’s 18 to be famous. At 15, the fetching Indonesian-born singer/songwriter is already making a name for herself, creating an industry buzz that puts her on the same path to pop stardom as the likes of LeAnn Rimes and Miley Cyrus. Her newly released single, “When I’m 18,” is currently playing on radio stations all across the U.S. and charting on NMW, FMQB, IMN and beyond.

“I always wanted to entertain people,” said Meeghan, who moved with her family to California before she was five. A gifted straight-A student, Meeghan juggled performing arts school with modeling, television commercials, beauty pageants and voice lessons, always with the full support of her family.

Meeghan’s big break came when she was discovered at California Sound Studios by music industry powerbroker Ronnie King. An internationally renowned producer and virtuoso keyboardist, King is known for his behind-the-scenes work with Mariah Carey, Tupac Shakur, and Snoop Dogg. Also on her production team is C Minor (Fallin’ For You, Dance Wit’ Me) and Terence Davis (Best Friends Forever, Spooky), a collaboration that resulted in her breakout album, “When I’m 18,” on the indie MHI Records label. Rich with pop hooks and catchy lyrics, “When I’m 18,” is already attracting thousands of fans to Meeghan’s music video on YouTube.

An electrifying live performer, Meeghan wowed a sold-out crowd at Beverly Hills’ Saban Theatre earlier this year when she shared the bill with Colby O’Donis, whose duet with Lady Gaga, “Just Dance,” reached #1 on the Billboard charts. She was also recently featured on The Ryan and Randi Show . On July 31st, Meeghan will perform in San Francisco’s Union Square, headlining the annual Indonesian Day parade.

Determined not to let the attention and accolades go to her head, the precocious and preternaturally talented Meeghan keeps her eyes on the prize. Poised beyond her years, Meeghan understands that talent alone won’t get her to the top. “It takes a lot of focus and hard work,” said the Indonesian beauty. “I’m dedicated to making it.” And chances are, she won’t have to be 18 to meet her goal.

Her album, “When I’m 18,” is available on iTunes and in music stores nationwide.

Taylor Swift’s Third CD, Speak Now, Set for US & International Release on October 25th

Tickets available here

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 20 /PRNewswire/ — Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated third studio album will be released worldwide on October 25th, Taylor herself announced this afternoon during a web chat with her fans.

Entitled SPEAK NOW, the album will be released on Big Machine Records and contains 14 tracks, all written solely by Taylor. Taylor co-produced the project with Nathan Chapman, and the first single from the new record, “Mine,” will be released on August 16th.

“Saying the right thing at the right moment is so crucial that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. But lately what I’ve begun to fear more than that is letting the moment pass without saying anything,” Taylor says of the very personal collection that is Speak Now. “These songs are made up of words I didn’t say when the moment was right in front of me. These songs are open letters. Each is written with a specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person.”

Four-time GRAMMY award winner Taylor Swift is the top-selling digital artist in music history, has had singles top both the Country and Pop radio charts, and had the #1 best-selling album in any genre of music in both 2009 and 2008. This year, at the age of 20, she became the youngest artist in history, and the first female solo country artist ever, to win the music industry’s highest honor, the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year. Also at the 2010 GRAMMYs, she took home the awards for Country Album of the Year, Best Country Song, and Best Country Female Vocal Performance.

In 2009, she was named Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards and also became the youngest artist in the 43-year history of the Country Music Association, and the seventh female act ever, to be awarded country music’s top prize when she took home the CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year.

Taylor’s sophomore release, Fearless, reached double-platinum in just four weeks and in addition to the Album of the Year GRAMMY, was voted 2009′s Album of the Year by both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. Fearless also won the 2009 American Music Award for Favorite Country Album, and was 2008′s biggest debut for any female artist, and the fourth highest debut of the year, overall. Now 6X-platinum, Fearless has spent more weeks in the #1 position atop Billboard’s Top 200 all-genre CD sales chart than any other album this decade. Taylor, whose career record sales now top 13 million, currently holds the Billboard all-genre records for most first-week downloads by a female artist, for the longest charting album of this century and for most Top 20 debuts in a calendar year, as well as the Billboard record for the largest overall airplay audience for a country-based act. Taylor headlined her first arena tour last year, the TAYLOR SWIFT FEARLESS 2009 TOUR. Every show on the tour sold out within minutes, including Madison Square Garden in one minute, and Los Angeles’ STAPLES center in just two minutes. Taylor’s 40-date FEARLESS 2010 North American tour sold out arenas and stadiums in 32 cities in 26 states and provinces in the US and Canada.

At the age of 17, Taylor became the youngest person ever to single-handedly write and sing a number-one country single entirely on her own, and Taylor is the first female solo artist in country music history to write or co-write every song on a platinum-selling debut CD. When Taylor was just 14, she signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music, and in 2006 released her self-titled debut CD on Big Machine Records. Taylor Swift has surpassed quadruple-platinum status and spent more than 20 weeks in the #1 position atop Billboard’s Country CD Sales Chart. Taylor is consistently ranked Country’s #1 artist on MySpace, and was named Country Music’s Hottest Female Artist by AOL Music and Best New Artist by the editors of iTunes. Taylor has more than 7.4 million Facebook friends, more than 3.6 million followers on her Twitter account, and has had more than 273.8 million music plays on her MySpace page.

In 2009 Taylor won AMA Awards for Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist (Country), Favorite Female Artist (Pop/Rock), Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, and Favorite Album (Country). She also took home CMA Awards for Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Video of the Year and International Artist Achievement. The same year, Taylor was awarded the Academy of Country Music’s Crystal Milestone Award, given for Outstanding Achievement in Country Music. Taylor was the 2nd artist in history to receive this prestigious award — Garth Brooks received the award in 2007. She is also the first Country artist to win an MTV VMA Award, taking home the 2009 Moonman for Best Female Video. In 2009 Taylor won CMT Music Awards for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year, awards she was also honored with in 2008. In addition, she won 2009 Teen Choice Awards for Choice Female Artist and Choice Music Album – Female Artist. Taylor was named 2008′s Favorite Female Country Artist at the American Music Awards, and Top New Female Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music. She was named Choice Breakout Artist at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, and was honored as the 2008 Superstar of Tomorrow at the 10th Annual Young Hollywood Awards, making her the first musician to ever receive this prestigious award. She was named Songwriter / Artist of the Year by the Nashville Songwriters Association International in both 2009 and 2007, and she won the 2007 CMA Horizon Award, as well as receiving a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.

In 2009, NBC dedicated an entire hour to the primetime special “Dateline: On Tour With Taylor Swift.” Taylor’s other television appearances include a guest-starring role on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and in 2009 she became only the twelfth person in 35 years to both host and perform on Saturday Night Live. Taylor’s numerous television guest appearances include The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Jay Leno Show, the Late Show with David Letterman, the Today Show, Good Morning America, The CBS Early Show, The View, and Live with Regis & Kelly. Taylor made her feature film acting debut in 2010, as part of the ensemble cast of the Garry Marshall film Valentine’s Day.

Taylor has been featured on the covers of Rolling Stone (twice), Billboard (twice), Elle, Glamour, People, InStyle, New York Times T magazine, Allure, Marie Claire, People StyleWatch, Blender, USA Weekend, Seventeen (twice), Redbook, Self, Us Weekly, CosmoGirl, Girl’s Life, Teen Vogue, Women’s Health, First, Your Prom, and Southwest Airlines Spirit magazine. She was featured in a Vanity Fair spotlight, was profiled in Vogue, was named one Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2010, was named one of People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People of 2008, 2009 & 2010, was Cosmopolitan magazine’s Fun Fearless Female, was Allure’s Face of December, was named a Style Star of 2008 and 2009 by the editors of Seventeen, and was featured on Maxim’s Hot 100 list in 2008, 2009 & 2010.

Jason Mraz Hits the Highway for Fall Tour; Trek Includes Top-Billed Performance at Life Is Good Festival 2010 as Well as Wrigley Field Shows With Dave Matthews Band; Tickets for Headline Tour Go on Sale This Week

Click here for Jason Mraz tickets

NEW YORK, New York–(Marketwire – July 20, 2010) – Jason Mraz has announced details of his upcoming North American tour. The Atlantic recording artist kicks off on September 11th at Bangor, Maine’s Bangor Waterfront and then continues through early October (see itinerary below). For up-to-the-minute ticket on-sale, pre-sale and tour information, please visit www.jasonmraz.com.

In tandem with his own tour, Mraz will also be making a series of additional appearances, including a September 12th headline performance at the Life is Good Festival 2010 in Canton, Massachusetts. The Grammy Award-winning tunesmith will also join his longtime pals Dave Matthews Band for a pair of shows at Chicago’s world famous Wrigley Stadium on September 17th and 18th.

Having spent much of the past few months in the studio working on his next studio album, Mraz scheduled the upcoming itinerary as a way of getting fans’ response to some of his new material. Moreover, the San Diego-based troubadour wanted to take the opportunity to visit a number of markets missed by his previous North American tour: “Even though we performed 250 shows all around the world in 2008 and 2009, I still got emails and Facebook messages from fans whose hometowns we missed,” said Mraz. “When I found out I had some time off, I called up the band and said, ‘Let’s get to some of these places.’” Support for most dates on the trek will come from acclaimed singer/songwriter — and fellow Atlantic recording artist — Robert Francis. Also Christina Perri, whose song “Jar of Hearts” has created a national stir, will appear on a few select dates.

Throughout his career, Mraz has received praise as a consummate live performer. From his earliest days in the coffee shops of San Diego to his recent sold-out performance at the Hollywood Bowl, Mraz’s live show has always been a testament of his true musical chops. Earlier this year, Mraz took home Grammy Awards for both “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance” (for “Make It Mine”) and “Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals,” honoring his alliance with Colbie Caillat, “Lucky.” Both tracks are featured on 2008′s RIAA platinum-certified “WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS.”

The album’s first single, “I’m Yours,” proved a momentous #1 smash, earning ASCAP’s 2010 “Song of the Year” award at their Pop Music Awards while also setting the record for the longest-running song in the 52-year history of Billboard’s “Hot 100.” The first song ever to top the charts at four different pop radio formats, “I’m Yours” is the sixth best-selling digital track of all time, with sales of more than 5 million downloads.

Fueled by the success of “I’m Yours,” “Lucky,” and “Make It Mine,” “WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS.” became a genuine worldwide sensation. In addition to the album’s platinum certification in the US, the album has received multiple platinum certifications in Korea (6x), France (5x), and Indonesia (3x); double platinum certifications in Australia and Canada; and platinum certification in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

In addition to the aforementioned Grammys, Mraz has been feted with an array of other honors, including the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s esteemed “Hal David Starlight Award,” presented to gifted songwriters who are making a significant impact in the music industry via their original songs. A committed activist as well as an artist, Mraz was honored last year by the Environmental Media Association for his impassioned efforts.

Mraz’s most recent release is “JASON MRAZ’S BEAUTIFUL MESS – LIVE ON EARTH,” a two-disc CD/DVD set capturing him at his onstage best, performing a wide array of his greatest hits. Filmed and recorded in August 2009 as Jason’s blockbuster “Gratitude Café Tour” hit Chicago’s Charter One Pavilion, the collection includes a DVD — directed by Darren Doane (“I’m Yours,” “Lucky,” as well as videos from such diverse artists as Van Morrison and Shinedown) — featuring the full-length concert, never-before-seen backstage footage, and the exclusive new mockumentary, “Un Beau Désordre.”

HOLLYWOOD, California /PRNewswire/ — Queensryche has partnered with Capitol/EMI for the September 14 release of an expanded 20th Anniversary Edition of the band’s triple platinum-certified breakout album, Empire. The new 2CD and digital packages both include the remastered album, featuring six hit singles, including the #1 smash “Silent Lucidity,” as well as 13 bonus tracks, among them 10 previously unreleased live performances recorded in 1990 at London’s Hammersmith Odeon. The 2CD package is presented in a lift-top box with five postcards, a fold-out poster and a booklet featuring rare photos from the band’s personal archive.

After building a devoted fan base with album and EP releases throughout the 1980s, including 1988′s critically acclaimed Operation: Mindcrime, Queensryche broke into the mainstream across North America and abroad with the 1990 release of Empire. In the U.S., the album peaked at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and its hit ballad “Silent Lucidity” quickly became a heavy rotation staple at rock radio and on MTV, topping Billboard’s Modern Rock singles chart and earning Queensryche the coveted MTV Viewers Choice Award for the song’s music video. Empire also made the U.K.’s Top 10, and the album’s international success led to Queensryche’s 18-month headlining “Building Empires” world tour, the band’s longest trek to date.

Empire also features the Billboard Top 10 Modern Rock hits “Jet City Woman” and “Another Rainy Night,” the Top 20 single, “Anybody Listening?,” and the Top 30 singles “Best I Can” and Empire.” In addition to the aforementioned live recordings, Empire (20th Anniversary Edition)’s bonus tracks include “Last Time in Paris” from the Ford Forlaine soundtrack, “Dirty Lil’ Secret,” and the band’s cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Scarborough Fair.”

Since forming in Bellevue, Washington in 1981, Queensryche has sold more than 20 million albums around the world. The band continues to tour and record; American Soldier was released last year. Get Queensryche Concert tickets here

Multi Grammy Award-Winning Country Duo Sugarland To Unveil Highly-Anticipated Fourth Record The Incredible Machine October 19

LEAD OFF SINGLE “STUCK LIKE GLUE” TO DEBUT JULY 26 Click here for Sugarland Tickets

NASHVILLE, Tennessee /PRNewswire/ — Multi Grammy award-winning Mercury Nashville country duo Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush of Sugarland will debut their highly-anticipated fourth studio album The Incredible Machine October 19. Nettles and Bush co-wrote the entire record and co-produced with Byron Gallimore. Lead off single “Stuck Like Glue”, written by Nettles, Bush, Kevin Griffin and Shy Carter, goes to radio July 26.

“‘Stuck Like Glue’ is just plain, unashamed, Sugar-fun!” exclaims Nettles. “It sticks in your brain, no pun intended. To me it feels young, hip and of course sassy! I can’t wait for it to get out there so we can play it live in our show. We’ve been sitting on our hands to not play it live ’til it was released!”

Sugarland has sold over 8 million records and achieved six #1 singles since exploding onto the music scene in ’04 with Twice The Speed Of Life (“Baby Girl”/”Something More”). Enjoy the Ride (“Want To”/”Settlin’”/”Stay”) quickly followed in ’06 and their third studio album Love On The Inside (“It Happens”/”Love”/”All I Want To Do”/”Already Gone”) in July ’08, which skyrocketed them to superstardom, drawing fans from all genres and critics abroad. Sugarland is credited with co-writing all tracks from all three albums and co-producing the last two. As a thank you to their loyal fans, in August ’09, the duo released Live On The Inside, a CD/DVD set of live tracks, covers and footage from their “Love On The Inside” tour. The same month ABC aired an hour-long network special featuring the pair in their most beloved setting…on stage.

The holiday season brought about Gold And Green, a 10-track holiday collection consisting of half standards and the other half originals, all of which Nettles and Bush co-wrote. They also co-produced. They’ve received trophies from the Grammys, American Music Awards, the Academy of Country Music, CMT Music Awards and the Country Music Association. Nettles performed at the Obama Presidential Inauguration celebration and the duo has made two appearances on “Oprah”. They’ve performed in six European countries and headlined multiple U.S. tours. The duo is currently headlining “The Incredible Machine” tour and will vie for best “Country Group” at next month’s Teen Choice Awards.

Eminem Dominates With Recovery

Eminem Dominates With Recovery; New Album Bows With First Week Sales of 741,000, the Biggest Debut of Any Release Since 2008

SANTA MONICA, California, June 29 /PRNewswire/ — Eminem, the Nielsen SoundScan Artist of the Decade for 2000-2009, is already kicking off the new decade with more of the same. His latest album, Recovery (Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records), makes its debut atop the charts this week with sales of 741,000 copies; easily outpacing any other release for this year, and setting a bar that no other album has reached for first week sales in almost two years.

The album’s first single, “I’m Not Afraid,” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May. The song was only the 16th in the 52-year history of the Hot 100 to debut at the top spot, and the first rap song to do so in 13 years. The second single from the album, “Love The Way You Lie” (featuring Rihanna), is already showing tremendous growth at radio, and debuts at #1 on the Singles chart this week, with sales of 337,000.

“It’s been 12 years since Eminem signed to Aftermath and Interscope,” remarked Jimmy Iovine, Chairman, Interscope Geffen A&M Records. “This is a real watershed moment in his career. In my opinion, with this album Eminem’s impact on popular culture, and as a lyricist and writer, puts him on course to be mentioned in the same sentence as Dylan, Springsteen, and Bono.”

Recovery is being hailed as a tour de force for the rapper, receiving a four-star review in the current issue of Rolling Stone, and being described as “his fiercest and most focused work in a long time … a strong return to the form that made him a star in the first place.” (USA Today, 6/21/10)

Eminem performed “Not Afraid” on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater for an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” that aired Friday night, as well as at Sunday night’s “2010 BET Awards.” He heads to Europe next week for headlining slots at Switzerland’s Freuenfeld festival (July 9), T In The Park in Scotland (July 10), and wraps up in Ireland at Oxegen (July 11). Eminem and Jay-Z also will perform co-headlining dates at Comerica Park in Detroit (September 2 and 3) and New York’s Yankee Stadium (September 13 and 14). Tickets for the four shows went on sale late last week and quickly sold out but these are still available at TicketsNow.com
