NEW YORK, New York /PRNewswire/ — International superstar Mariah Carey has completed her 13th studio album, ANGELS ADVOCATE, a brand new collection of newly remixed duets with some of her favorite artists, performing Mariah’s favorite songs from her #1 R&B album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel (released September 2009). ANGELS ADVOCATE will be released on March 30th.

In advance of the ANGELS ADVOCATE album release, two new Mariah Carey singles are on the way this week - “Angels Cry” featuring fellow Island Def Jam artist Ne-Yo is impacting at Urban A/C radio, and “Up Out My Face” featuring Nicki Minaj is impacting at Urban and Rhythm radio formats. New videos for both tracks were co-directed by Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey. Both videos will premiere at #1 search site VEVO.com on Thursday, January 28th, followed by Friday debuts on MTV and BET. The videos will be available at all platforms starting Monday, February 1st.

Mariah is in the second week of her six week “Angels Advocate” Tour across North America - her first major tour since The “Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, The Hits, The Tour” of August-October 2006. The opening act on the “Angels Cry” Tour is RydazNrtist, a new R&B group signed to Nick Cannon’s NCredible Entertainment. (Since mid-January, the tour has played through MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT; Fox Theatre in Atlanta; Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, FL; and Fox Theatre in Detroit. Please see remaining tour dates below.)

ANGELS ADVOCATE (and Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel) follow up Mariah’s multi-platinum E=MC(2) (2008), and worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (2005). The Emancipation Of Mimi generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month chart stay. Soundscan’s biggest-selling album of 2005, Mimi featured “We Belong Together” (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and “Don’t Forget About Us,” Mariah’s 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. They tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley’s 17 #1’s.

Three years later, Mariah surpassed Elvis when “Touch My Body” (from E=MC(2)) became her 18th #1 Hot 100 hit. “Touch My Body” spent two weeks at the top, Mariah’s 78th and 79th cumulative career weeks at #1, which tied Elvis’ long-standing all-time high of 79 weeks at #1, as calculated by Billboard. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles’ all-time high of 20 #1 hits. The success of E=MC(2) brought total sales of Mariah’s albums, singles and videos to more than 175 million worldwide, distancing her even further from the pack as the top-selling female recording artist in history.

Jay-Z BP3 Confirms 2010 North American Tour Dates

November 6th, 2009 · No Comments

LOS ANGELES, California Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — In the midst of his first college tour, promoting his latest #1 album The Blueprint 3 and his recently released video game sensation “DJ Hero: Renegade Edition,” the unstoppable JAY-Z confirms North American tour dates for 2010’s BP3 tour. The second leg of the Live Nation-produced tour will begin on February 22nd in Houston, Texas at the Toyota Center with more dates to be announced soon. JAY-Z will be joined by Grammy-nominated rapper Young Jeezy who will open all dates on the tour. Check for tickets here.

JAY-Z’s BP3 North American tour will make a cross-country trek in 2010 stopping at arenas in major markets including Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Greensboro, Washington, Boston, Pittsburgh, St Louis, Indianapolis, Denver, San Jose, Los Angeles and more. Additional day of show and on sale information will be announced shortly for stops in East Rutherford, Uniondale, Atlantic City and Detroit.

“Jay-Z is the greatest rapper alive. Anyone who was in attendance at his sold-out KeyArena concert Saturday night can attest to that fact. Hova, Young Hov, Jigga, Hovito, whatever you call him Shawn Carter is on top of the rap game and there were no signs of him stepping down any time soon during his career-spanning two-hour show.”

Seattle Post Intelligencer (KeyArena Review), October 19, 2009

“In a performance that had the feel of a stadium show, thanks to the scope of the production and the magnitude of the star on stage, Jay-Z did something remarkable during his encore Friday night. Even more remarkable than the tight, full-band renditions of stunners like ‘Big Pimpin’ and ‘D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)’ and more attention-getting than his flashy New York City skyline backdrop. He made individual members of the audience feel that they were as important as him, an entertainer with 11 No. 1 albums and an entrepreneur reportedly worth $150 million.” The Wilkes-Barre Times Leader (Penn State Review), October 14, 2009

The current North American tour, a mix of 26 colleges and arenas, has featured sold out dates including Pennsylvania State’s Bryce Center, UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, Northern Kentucky University’s Bank of Kentucky, Eastern Michigan University’s Convocation Center, and the University of Massachusetts’ Mullins Center as well as, the KeyArena in Seattle, Kelowna British Columbia’s Prospera Place, Philadelphia’s Wachovia Center, Providence’s Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Baltimore’s 1st Mariner Arena.

Jackson Browne to Launch Solo Acoustic Tour of U.S. on November 1

September 10th, 2009 · No Comments

INTIMATE DATES FOLLOW BROWNE’S YEAR-LONG TOUR WITH HIS FULL BAND IN SUPPORT OF HIS LATEST ALBUM TIME THE CONQUEROR

LOS ANGELES, California /PRNewswire/ — Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will close out 2009 with a Solo Acoustic Tour in the United States. Browne’s solo acoustic concerts–in which he accompanies himself, alternately, on guitar and piano–are perennial fan favorites. Featuring a different set list every night, Browne pulls songs from throughout his four decades-long career, takes requests from the house, and injects storytelling and repartee with the audience into the mix.

Browne’s 2009 Solo Acoustic Tour kicks off with a November 1 show at the Forum in Harrisburg, PA. Currently, the tour wraps on December 7 in Des Moines, IA with a concert at the Civic Center.

The magic of Browne’s intimate solo performances can be experienced through two live albums recorded on previous solo acoustic tours in the U.S., the U.K. and Australia: the GRAMMY(R) -nominated Jackson Browne - Solo Acoustic, Vol. 1 (2005) and Jackson Browne - Solo Acoustic, Vol. 2 (’08). Both albums are available on Browne’s own independent label, Inside Recordings. In his four-star review of Vol. 2 for Rolling Stone, Anthony DeCurtis wrote, “Between songs, Browne speaks about his life and music with moving candor. . .This is Browne at his best, engaging his audience, his own experiences and the world around him, all in songs that will not lose their resonance any time soon.”

The 2009 solo acoustic dates follow a full year on the road for Browne, touring with his band in support of his latest studio album, 2008’s Time The Conqueror (also available on Inside). Bookended by legs in the U.S., the just-completed Time The Conqueror World Tour also traveled to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K. and Europe. Produced by Browne and Paul Dieter, Time The Conqueror features ten original songs including “The Drums Of War,” “Going Down To Cuba,” “Just Say Yeah” and the title track. In a review for MOJO, Phil Sutcliffe wrote, “Browne delivers elegantly considered weight and truth. . .His grand yet unpretentious imagery shows why he’s admired by such diverse peers as Springsteen and Randy Newman.”

Browne’s newest original song, “Here,” is featured in the motion picture Shrink, serving as dramatic punctuation over the end title credits. Released July 31, 2009 from Roadside Attractions, Shrink stars Academy Award(R)-winning actor Kevin Spacey, and the cast also features Saffron Burrows, Jack Huston, Robert Loggia, Keke Palmer, Pell James, Mark Webber, and Dallas Roberts.

Since his acclaimed 1972 self-titled debut album, Jackson Browne has defined a genre of songwriting and performing that is charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. Two of his albums, Late For the Sky and The Pretender, are on Rolling Stone’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” He’s been recognized with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2004) and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame (2007), with recent humanitarian honors including the John Steinbeck Award and the Chapin-World Hunger Year Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award. www.jacksonbrowne.com
