Rob Thomas Sets Fall Tour of North America in Support of New Album “cradlesong”

Two-Month Cross-Country Trek to Also Feature One Republic & Carolina Liar

Thomas’ New Album in Stores and Online June 30th

Tickets are available here

NEW YORK, New York –(Marketwire) - Multiple Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Rob Thomas has announced dates for his full-scale tour of North America in support of his new release “cradlesong” and companion DVD “Live at Red Rocks.” The two-month itinerary is slated to kick off on September 23rd at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and end with a multi-night stand at the famed Beacon Theater in New York beginning on November 12th. (See below for full listing of dates.) The tour will include special guests One Republic and Carolina Liar.

The new tour, dubbed “cradlesong tour ‘09,” is Thomas’s second full-fledged solo tour and the first in support of his new Emblem/Atlantic Records release “cradlesong” which hits stores and digital retailers nationwide on June 30th. “cradlesong” is the follow-up to Thomas’s record-setting solo album “…Something to Be” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard chart and marked the first time a male artist from a rock or pop group debuted at #1 with his first solo album. The first single off “cradlesong,” “Her Diamonds,” already gave the multi-platinum singer songwriter his best Hot 100 start in his 16th overall trip to the Billboard chart and continues to grow at radio. The entire album is currently streaming free of charge through Rhapsody (www.rhapsody.com/vh1) and VH1’s “The Leak” (http://theleak.vh1.com) as part of a unique and multi-faceted, multi-platform initiative whose centerpiece is a robust television advertising campaign featuring Thomas and visual clues that fans will recognize as references to his decade-long career, set to the music of “Her Diamonds.”

Rob Thomas is one of the most distinctive vocalists and accomplished songwriters in contemporary music, garnering a string of accolades — both for his work as lead singer and primary composer with matchbox twenty as well as for his solo work and collaborations with other artists. In 2004, the Songwriters Hall of Fame presented Thomas with its premiere “Starlight Award” — created to recognize a songwriter in the early years of his or her career who has already made a lasting impact. He has won numerous BMI and ASCAP Awards, and has earned the Songwriter of the Year crown from both Billboard and BMI, two years in a row.

Thomas has written and performed a remarkable string of hits, including matchbox twenty’s #1-charting “Push,” “3AM,” “If You’re Gone,” “Bent,” “Disease,” and “Unwell,” plus such favorites as “Real World,” “Back 2 Good,” “Mad Season,” and “Bright Lights.” His smash collaboration with Santana, the Thomas-penned “Smooth,” earned Rob three Grammy Awards and ranks #1 on Billboard’s “Top Hot 100 Rock Songs” chart and #2 on the magazine’s “Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs.” He has also worked with the likes of Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger, Marc Anthony and Bernie Taupin. Combining all of his projects, Thomas has contributed to sales of more than 80 million records.

Skillet Ready to Rise With “AWAKE”; Grammy-Nominated Rock Outfit to Herald Album With Extensive Tour Schedule; “Monster” to Rock Multi-Format Radio in July; “AWAKE” Arrives on August 25th

Tickets are available here

NEW YORK, New York –(Marketwire) - Atlantic recording group Skillet has announced the forthcoming release of their eagerly awaited new album. “AWAKE” — which features the tracks “Hero” and “Monster” — arrives in stores and at all online retailers on August 25th.

Produced by Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Daughtry, Flyleaf), “AWAKE” is available now for pre-order via the rock outfit’s official website, located at http://skillet.com. A variety of packages are being offered, pairing the album with such bonuses as an exclusive Skillet t-shirt, an autographed VIP pass, and membership in Skillet’s official fan club. All pre-orders of “AWAKE” come with an immediate download of “Hero.”

The release of “AWAKE” will be preceded by the electrifying new single, “Monster.” The track is slated to impact at Active Rock and Mainstream Rock outlets nationwide on July 14th, while a companion video is currently in pre-production.

One of America’s hardest working live acts, Skillet will herald “AWAKE” with an exhaustive tour schedule, kicking off a full-scale headlining tour at Fort Wayne, Indiana’s Embassy Theater on September 24th.

In other news, Skillet frontman John Cooper and producer Brian Howes recently collected two BMI Music Awards for “The Last Night” and “The Older I Get,” both featured on 2006’s Grammy Award-nominated “COMATOSE.”

“COMATOSE” proved Skillet’s most popular work to date, with sales now approaching RIAA gold certification. The album followed the band’s 2003 label debut, “COLLIDE,” which launched Skillet into the mainstream while also garnering their first Grammy Award nomination.

Founded in 1996, Skillet has earned ecstatic praise for their inspirational and intense approach to hard-edged alternative rock. Hit Parader celebrated Skillet for “(bringing) to mind the kind of slick, studio-savvy work that made vintage Aerosmith and Bon Jovi so much fun to listen to.” “Skillet… continually push their musical muscle with soaring guitar work interspersed with their take on 80’s hair-metal ballads,” declared Mix.

Tracy Chapman Announces Summer Tour Schedule

Tracy Chapman Reveals Summer Schedule; Grammy-Winning Superstar to Embark on First North American Tour in Over Three Years; Trek Begins July 31st at Boston’s House of Blues

Tickets are available here

NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwire) - Elektra recording artist Tracy Chapman has unveiled an extensive slate of summer concert dates, her first full-scale North American itinerary in over three years. The tour — which celebrates the multi-platinum, four-time Grammy-winner’s acclaimed 2008 release, “OUR BRIGHT FUTURE” — will hit the road on July 31st at Boston’s House of Blues. From there, Chapman will cross the continent, wrapping up with an eagerly awaited show at The Fillmore in her adopted hometown of San Francisco (see below itinerary).

The North American dates will be preceded by a major trek across Europe, with multiple performances set for Ireland, England, France, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, and The Netherlands. Chapman will be accompanied on both her European and North American tours by her band, which includes guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Joe Gore (Tom Waits, PJ Harvey, Aimee Mann), keyboardist Patrick Warren (Fiona Apple, Bruce Springsteen, Ani DiFranco), and drummer Dawn Richardson (4 Non Blondes, Penelope Houston).

Beginning with the 1988 release of her eponymous, 6x-platinum certified debut, Chapman has created a body of work that has been as consistently compelling as it is honest and uncompromising. “OUR BRIGHT FUTURE” — Tracy’s eighth studio album and first new release since 2005’s acclaimed “WHERE YOU LIVE” — gathers 11 new songs co-produced with fellow Grammy Award winner Larry Klein (Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell, Madeleine Peyroux).

The album received a rapturous critical response upon its release last November. The Boston Globe hailed Chapman’s “emotional intensity and clarity of vision,” and then went on to laud tracks such as the first single, “Sing For You,” as “tuneful and soul-baring, a rare and beautiful combination.” The New York Times’ Jon Pareles praised the album’s “delicacy,” noting that “it draws listeners closer to what (Chapman) does best.” “Tracy Chapman remains true to her musical calling,” extolled Billboard, “soul-rich folk melodies around a voice of honesty and nuance that nails ambivalence like no other.”

ASIA Hits the Road With YES For U.S. Tour

June 26th, 2009 · No Comments

25-Date Tour, Featuring All Four Original Members of ASIA, Begins Tonight

YES’ Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White Joined by Benoit David and Oliver Wakeman, with Howe Performing in Both Bands!

Tickets are available here

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 26, /PRNewswire/ — It’s a prog-rock fan’s dream come true, with two legendary British bands on the same stage, playing hits like “I’ve Seen All Good People,” “Roundabout” and “Heat of the Moment.” Acclaimed British band YES launches their 25-city U.S. tour tonight in Indio, CA with Special Guest ASIA.

YES features the classic line-up of guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White with new vocalist Benoit David and keyboardist Oliver Wakeman, son of the group’s Rick Wakeman. Howe, a cornerstone member of both groups, will perform both sets, with his YES bandmates and with ASIA’s other original members, including ex-YES and Buggles keyboardist Geoff Downes, ELP’s Carl Palmer on drums and former King Crimson and U.K. bassist/guitarist/vocalist John Wetton.

“This is a monumental event and even though it will be a challenge, I am up for it,” says YES and ASIA’s Howe.

The tour includes stops at San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre (July 2), Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheatre (July 7), and Philadelphia’s Tower Theater (July 28), before concluding in Bethlehem, PA on August 2. The summer dates come after a planned West Coast tour was postponed when YES’ Chris Squire was hospitalized for leg surgery.

“People have been waiting for this for decades,” adds ASIA’s Wetton. “Since America was so important to the success of both bands, we feel it was the right time and place to launch it.”

YES concerts have always been very special events, and this summer’s U.S. jaunt will be no different. The group will perform selections from hit albums, including Fragile, Close to the Edge, Tales from Topographic Oceans and 90125 along with audience favorites like “Roundabout,” “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” “I’ve Seen All Good People” and “Yours Is No Disgrace,” just some of the enduring classics that have made YES one of the most influential and groundbreaking groups in rock & roll.

This time around, Howe, Squire and White are also pulling out some rarely performed chestnuts, like 1980’s “Machine Messiah” and “Siberian Khatru,” expertly sung by David, a Montreal, Quebec, native and vocalist in several YES tribute groups, discovered by the band on the Internet. His ability to channel Anderson’s distinctive singing voice has added an extra treat for true fans. ASIA’s performance will feature many songs from their historic first album, the world’s bestselling release of 1982. The supergroup’s debut effort was #1 on Billboard’s albums chart for nine weeks and included such smashes as “Heat of the Moment,” “Only Time Will Tell” and “Sole Survivor.”

After 23 years apart, the original line-up of ASIA reformed in 2006 and has conducted four successful world tours and, in 2008, released the critically acclaimed Phoenix album on EMI America Records. Collectively and individually, the four original members of ASIA have sold more than 120 million records.

As a dominant force for more than four decades, YES has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, stretching the boundaries of progressive art-rock with their dynamic instrumental contrasts and abstract lyrics. Their symphonic use of sound and innovative musical styles continues to make them one of the most successful and long-standing groups in rock history as they continue to add new, young fans to their following.

Says Squire: “This has turned out to be one of the best performing line-ups in YES’ storied history. It feels like we’re rediscovering these songs all over again.”

80s Hitmaking Duo of Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock Will Be Releasing Their Indie Projects ‘Free Love’ (July 14) and ‘Singer and the Song’ (September 15) on Odds On Records

Tickets are available here

LOS ANGELES, June 25 /PRNewswire/ — After a typically jam packed exotic spring, touring everywhere from Australia to Central America and Asia (Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore), Air Supply (www.airsupplymusic.com) is coming home to America for Independence Day.

The 80s hit making duo of Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock are set to perform July 4 at the Beaumont Cherry Festival in Riverside, California. Later in July, they will be playing at the Hard Rock Hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi (July 10-11) and the Sandy Amphitheatre in Sandy, Utah (July 31).

Earlier this year, they signed a label deal with Las Vegas based independent label, Odds On Records. Distributed by E1 Music (formerly Koch) and headed by former Warner Bros. marketing and promotion executive Ted Joseph, the full-service company (www.oddsonrecording.com) plans to release a new Air Supply studio album in 2010.

The timing of their first commercial release in nearly a decade coincides perfectly with the group’s 35th anniversary next year.

Not that the world ever stopped celebrating the soft rock gurus of romance. Over two decades after dominating the pop charts with romantic perennials like “All Out of Love,” “The One That You Love,” “Lost In Love” and “Making Love Out of Nothing At All,” Russell and Hitchcock have never been more popular, averaging 120-140 concerts annually.

Odds On has also licensed two indie Air Supply projects, and Free Love, which is scheduled for a July 14 release, and Singer and the Song, which is set for September 15. The albums were previously sold at Air Supply shows and on the duo’s website.

Crosby, Stills & Nash Extend 2009 Tour Through Late September With Second U.S. Leg

DEMOS, AN ALBUM OF PREVIOUSLY UNISSUED CSN RARITIES, TO BE RELEASED BY RHINO ON JUNE 2nd

THE TRIO GETS INDUCTED INTO THE SONGWRITER’S HALL OF FAME ON JUNE 18 IN NYC

LOS ANGELES, California May 14 /PRNewswire/ — Four decades after their first concert together in front of the multitudes at Woodstock, Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) take to the road again for four months of dates in the U.S., Canada, Europe and the U.K. The group-David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash-just announced a second North American leg for their 2009 tour, which extends the itinerary through September. The schedule closes with a pair of intimate shows at Humphrey’s in San Diego, CA on September 28 and 29.

The tour kicks off next month with a June 3 show in St. Louis, MO, the day after Rhino Records’ release of Demos. Featuring 12 previously unreleased tracks recorded between 1968 and 1971, Demos spotlights destined-to-be-classic songs later heard on CSN’s group and solo titles. The disc opens with the trio harmonizing on “Marrakesh Express,” recorded four months before the song came out on the group’s self-titled 1969 debut LP. Other rarities include seminal takes on “Almost Cut My Hair,” “Chicago,” “Love The One You’re With,” “Sleep Song” and “Long Time Gone.”

Just after the tour’s initial North American leg wraps at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA on June 14, CSN will be inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame (SHOF) on June 18 in New York City. The honor–which follows their 1997 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame–recognizes CSN as a group, and each member as individual solo artists. It also acknowledges the groundbreaking music each created prior to forming CSN: The Byrds (Crosby), Buffalo Springfield (Stills) and The Hollies (Nash). This convergence of rock ‘n roll pedigrees led to CSN becoming known as music’s first “supergroup.”

Following the SHOF ceremony, the tour picks up internationally on June 27 in the U.K., when CSN plays the sold-out 2009 Glastonbury Festival. Other U.K. stops include July 1, when CSN takes the venerable stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall, and then performs shows in: Cork, Ireland (6/29); Manchester, England (7/10) and Edinburgh, Scotland (7/11). The trio’s summer European itinerary also touches down on the Continent for four dates, including the Museum Plaza in Bonn, Germany (7/1) and The Olympia in Paris, France (7/4).

The second set of North American dates begins July 25 at Merrill Auditorium in Portland, ME. Among the many other highlights are shows at Wantagh, NY’s Jones Beach (8/8), Chastain Park Amphitheater in Atlanta, GA (8/17), Red Rocks in Morrison, CO (9/1) and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA (9/23).

CSN’s music became a cornerstone of rock ‘n roll with their self-titled 1969 debut LP, now one of Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” 1970’s Deja Vu–another “500 Greatest”–followed, the first album from the group’s four-man line-up with Neil Young (CSN&Y). Ever since–through changing times and various configurations–Crosby, Stills & Nash have continued to tour and record as “three together.”
